SB 187 - Scheduled for MONDAY (4/4/16)!

As we know, SB 187, proposing the ability to practice without a CPA, was heard favorably in the Senate Health and Welfare committee on 3/30/16. The next move for SB 187 is to be voted on by the Senate floor..... THIS MONDAY, 4/4/16.

Therefore it is imperative that all NPs and supporters of SB 187 to email your legislators ASAP and urge them to vote yes to pass SB 187. Many senators do not fully understand the NPs scope of practice and what this bill means. We need to let them know. Passing this Bill will ensure quality and expansive health care to many patients who otherwise do not have access to care. It will allow current NPs to practice at thier full potential as a NP. Remember, we are trained and licensed to diagnose, manage, and treat patients. We are taught the referral process to refer to appropriate specialist or internist if a problem is out of our scope of practice. The following are the senators for this region of Louisiana.
