NURSE PRACTITIONER-Integrative Family Care Medicine

Gonino Center for Healing is a primary care practice where conventional and integrative approach for patients’ well-being is accessible. Gonino Center for Healing is seeking a passionate, experienced provider who is grounded in traditional medicine but who also employs a holistic approach to patient care and wants to participate in an innovative model of integrative care; a practitioner who is open-minded and takes a whole- person approach in treating ailments. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Licensed in the state of Texas
  • Nationally Certified
  • A current ACLS certification required
  • Current DEA license
  • 5 years of clinical experience
  • Experience with intravenous (IV) injections and IV fluid administration preferred
  • Certification/Background in integrative care, functional medicine preferred

  • Proficiency with EMR systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite is preferred

JOB DUTIES

  • Daily interaction with patients and sense of ownership, which will be essential
  • Comprehensive new patient follow up consultations
  • Assess and consult with patients to generate comprehensive treatment plans
  • Diagnose, treat and assist patients to manage and therapeutically treat acute and chronic illness through the use of multiple modalities employed at the center
  • Review and sign off on comprehensive lab work testing
  • Diagnose, prescribe and administer medications in accordance with state and federal statutes
  • Order prescriptions and recommend medical nutraceuticals when appropriate
  • Educate and advise patients about our functional medical procedures and services
  • Perform physical examinations including well-woman and well-child exams
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing and wound care, managing infection and port access
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, provide home instructions, and assist in provision of continuity of care
  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, and health maintenance
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs
  • Collaborates with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary
  • Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, chiropractic therapy, or related integrative therapeutic procedures
  • Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
  • Document and review all patient evaluations, treatments, medications and transactions according to company policies and procedures
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggest improvements
  • Maintains medical records using EMR software
  • Supervise Medical Assistants to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
  • Display the highest level of professionalism, integrity and a strong work ethic, serving as a model for all clinic staff.
  • Rotating weekend call duties shared between all providers
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • Works and communicates effectively with all providers and the entire Gonino Center for Healing staff. Promotes teamwork.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Demonstrates professionalism by articulating and demonstrating professional behavior, accepting responsibility and accountability for actions, adhering to policies and procedures, demonstrating leadership and supporting Gonino Center for Healing initiatives
  • Serves and protects the physician and Gonino Center for Healing by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements
  • Enhances Gonino Center for Healing’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Other duties as assigned
