Program Overview:
This program presents Endari® (L-glutamine oral powder), a crucial therapy for patients with
Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), offering a proven approach to reducing painful crises and
hospitalizations. Educating healthcare providers and caregivers about its mechanism and
benefits is key to increasing awareness and importance of use and improving patient outcomes.
Target Audience:
This presentation is designed to provide educational awareness and updates to healthcare
providers, in particular, nurse practitioners, physicians, physicians assistants, who manage
individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). This includes primary care, family medicine,
hematology, general practitioner, and all clinical settings where SCD patients receive treatment.

With more than 30 years of experience as Assistant Professor of Nursing and over 5 years as Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified, I have extensive background in the areas of Medical/Surgical Nursing, Oncology Nursing with an on-going focus on management and Symptoms management of cancer patients and Hematological Disorders. I have a Masters in Family Health Nursing (Care of Families throughout the lifespan); Instruction in Introduction to Professional Nursing (in class and online instruction), Adult Health/Medical/Surgical I (didactic and clinical), Psych/Mental Health, Population-Focused Nursing (Community Health) and Nursing Management instruction. Currently, as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I have several years experience in the Advanced Practice Nursing setting; as well as Prescriptive Authority within the State of Louisiana. I possess the skills necessary to interact with patients, as well as other clinicians in support of the care and treatment of disease processes, thereof. I also have experience with treating chronic medical problems of clients, as well as counseling and education to promote health behaviors; and modify risk factors in clients; participation in and support of health and wellness initiatives, health education and screening of patients across the lifespan. In addition to my experience, I take pride in the ability to cultivate excellent provider/nurse/patient (client) relationships; of being resourceful, adaptable, and self-motivated with highly developed communication skills and organizational abilities…and, I am a Jazz Singer!
